Florene V. Sanders

Florene V. Sanders (89) passed away September 7, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on December 5, 1935, to Johnny Ray, and Ella Mae (Palmer) McDowell, in Lamesa, TX. Flo married Eldon Edward Sanders on February 24, 1964.

Flo was a devoted housewife and the ‘Queen” of cooking fried chicken and making deviled eggs. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening.

Flo was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Edward Sanders and a daughter, Ann Mayo. Those remaining to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are, her son, Lonnie (Cynthia) Sanders, 9 grandchildren, Carrie Self and family, Misty Sanders and family, Justin, Keegan, Di-Senya, and Chayman Sanders, Cody Mayo and family, and Brandi and Melissa: 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. 4 sisters, Jerry Nolen, Pat Sanders, Mary Lane, and Cindy Harper; and 2 brothers, Richard and Jack.

The family of Florene V. Sanders will honor and celebrate her life with a memorial service at 11:00AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Lone Star Cowboy Church 1309 E. FM 1585 Lubbock, TX 79423.
