Frances Cavender

Frances C. Cavender, 87, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, April 7, 2022. Frances was born on August 14, 1934, in Lubbock, to the late James Homer Cromer and Harriet Magdalene (Roark) Cromer.

She met and married Samuel Thomas Cavender on December 16, 1956, in Lubbock. Mr. Cavender preceded her in death.

Frances attended Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught school in Washington State for a short period of time. She also worked in the school administration, before she and her husband opened White Salmon Nursery, which they operated for a number of years. She loved flowers, gardening and making jewelry. Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idalou.

Those left to cherish her memory include one brother, Robert Cromer of Lubbock and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
