Frances Edwards

Frances Laverne Edwards of Lubbock passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 79.  She was born May 7, 1944 in Littlefield to Truman and Bertha (Gilley) Millican.  For more than 30 years Frances worked for the USDA Cotton Classing Office in Lubbock.   She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and will be best remembered for the daily phone calls to each of her family members. A huge part of her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren coming to visit her and raid her snack drawer.  The last six years of her life, Frances lived at Grand Court where she met and made many wonderful friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tonya (Bo) Roberts, Dana Goble, and Gary (Wendi) Edwards, all of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Kevil, Courtney Williams, Zack Goble, Blake Edwards, Brooke Rainey, Ty Roberts, and Meagan Teeter; and 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al Don, of 54 years; brothers, Donald Gene Millican and Raymond Mullenix; and her beloved pet, Skip.

Viewing will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Venue on Broadway with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, April 26, 2024 at Green Lawn Church of Christ with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
