It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Freddie Joe Cork, a cherished father, brother and friend, who left his world on May 21, 2025, at the age of 69. Born to the late William Dee Cork and Billie Jo Cork (Crowley), November 6, 1955, in Pampa, Texas, Freddie graced the lives of those around him with his generous spirit and undeniable light.
Residing in Lubbock, Texas, Freddie was known for his warm heart and willingness to help others. He was a man who would give the shirt off his back, and throughout his life he made friends wherever he went, never encountering an enemy. Freddie had a passion for auto mechanical services and was a proud owner of 47 hot rods at one point, a testament to his love for automobiles and craftsmanship.
Freddie is survived by his devoted sons Christopher Joe Cork and Michael Shane Cork, his sister Terry Black of Brazoria, TX, and brothers Billy Cork of Lubbock, TX and Malcolm Cork of Dallas, TX, Grandchildren; Christopher Kheagan Cork, Dustin Shane Cork, Andrew Miller, Kayla McGowen, Briana Miller, Kristal Dawne Cork, Hannah Rodriguez, Great-grandkids; Leigha McGowen, Leighton McGowen, Remington McGowen, Channing Miller, Anslee McCamey, Everett Miller, Jarod Cork, Jinnson Ross, Jasper Ross, including numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends who were all encompassing to the true life and legacy of Freddie.
He is proceeded in death by his siblings Lonnie Cork, Celesta Shores, Claudy Cork, Carl Cork, great-grandson Oakley, and his son's beloved mother Cynthia Ann Wilson.
A memorial service in honor of Freddie Joe Cork will be held on June 6th, 2025, at 2:00pm at Combest Family Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate a life well lived.
Honoring his wishes, an inurnment at Peaceful Gardens located 15602 TX-493 Loop, Lubbock, TX 79423 will immediately follow the memorial service. In this time of grief, we remember Freddy as a beacon of light, whose love and generosity shall forever remain in our hearts.
