Gina Louise Ferguson passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on December 17, 1958, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Jesse Dale Kirkes and Martha Louise Tidwell.
Gina graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1976. On June 30, 1980, she married Michael Anthony Ferguson, and together they shared 46 years of marriage, building a life and a family filled with love, laughter, and memories.
Gina was a homemaker who devoted her life to taking care of her girls and Mike. She was strong-willed and stubborn, even-tempered, and deeply loving. Her family always knew they could count on her. She was there for her girls and Mike through life's ups and downs, always in her own determined way.
When Gina took a break from keeping order in her home, she enjoyed the simple things she loved. She could often be found fishing, settling in with a good crime novel, or happily sleeping late. She had a special love for plants and flowers and was blessed with an amazing green thumb. She had a way of keeping them alive, healthy, and beautiful.
Gina also enjoyed gambling, and when luck was on her side, her stubborn determination to beat the slot machines often paid off with a little extra cash in her pocket. She was never one to give up easily-especially when she was convinced she was going to win.
Of all the things Gina loved, nothing compared to the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her grandkids were among her greatest joys, and the memories they made together will be treasured always.
Gina also had a soft spot for her cats and dogs, who brought her companionship, comfort, and plenty of joy throughout her life.
Gina is survived by her husband, Michael "Mike" Ferguson; her daughters, Jaimie Stevens and Erin English and her husband, Dustin; her brothers, Michael Kirkes and his wife, Carolyn, and Randy Kirkes; and her sister, Robin Beauchamp and her husband, Rick, and grandchildren Brandon Stevens, Jeremy Stevens, Jackson English and Wyatt English. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Dale Kirkes and Martha Louise Tidwell.
Gina will be remembered for her strong spirit, her stubborn streak, her love for her family, and the many simple things that made her happy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love, laughter, determination, and the memories she created with those around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
