Guadalupe T. Garcia, affectionately known to those who loved him as Lupe, passed away peacefully in his home in Lubbock, Texas, on April 18, 2026. Born on December 12, 1952, in Clovis, New Mexico, Guadalupe's journey was marked by a kindness and warmth that embraced friends and family alike, leaving indelible impressions on every life he touched.
A man defined by his welcoming spirit and infectious sense of humor, Guadalupe had a natural gift for making others feel at ease. His generous heart and sincere laughter filled rooms with light, a beacon of comfort and joy through all seasons of life. Throughout his years, he nurtured a profound love for cooking—his culinary creations a tangible expression of care—and found quiet delight in the timeless allure of old western movies, their rugged landscapes mirroring his own strength and resilience.
Guadalupe’s dedication extended into a long and diligent career as an operator at Southern Cotton Oil, where his steady hands and keen mind served the company faithfully up until his retirement in 2024. A graduate of high school, his commitment and work ethic spoke volumes beyond any formal accolade.
Family was the axis around which Guadalupe’s life revolved. Holidays were precious treasures to him, moments crafted for togetherness and celebration. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Rachael Garcia; devoted children Fabian Garcia, Josh Garcia, and Chastity Velasquez; and four grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, Melaquias and Eloisa Garcia, whose memories he held near to his heart.
