Gwyneth “Gwen” Line, 97 years young, of O’Donnell Texas died Friday, February 16, 2024, after a short illness.

Gwen was born to the late T.S. Doss Sr. and Elsie Mae (Austen) Doss October 5, 1926 in Wellman Texas. She was raised in the Gomez Texas community in Terry County and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1945. She and Harold Ivan “Odie” Line were married April 4, 1948 in Plainview Texas. They moved to the O’Donnell area in the late 1940s and except for a few years living in the Dallas Texas area during the 1950s remained living in O’Donnell. 

The former Gwyneth Doss was a member and very active in the O’Donnell First United Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir for a number of years and taught children’s Sunday school classes for a long time which many grown O’Donnell Methodists will remember.

Gwen was known in the community for her cooking, baking and canning which she loved to do. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Line Curtis of O’Donnell Texas and a son and daughter-in-law, Ivan Glen and Debbie Line of Post Texas. Six grandchildren; Kelly and April Line of Abilene Texas; Jeff and Renée Curtis of Oklahoma City Oklahoma; Wayne Line of Abilene Texas; Rebecca Robinett of O’Donnell Texas; Amy and Jeremy Stanley of Cedar Park Texas; and April and Mike Noell of Roby Texas.  Sixteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Harold Ivan “Odie” Line.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters and six brothers. She has one remaining sibling, a sister in California.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 4:00p.m. – 7:00p.m., at Combest Family Funeral Home in O’Donnell, TX. 

The funeral will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 2:00p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in O’Donnell with burial to follow at O'Donnell Cemetery.
