Ignacio Rendon

April 15, 1946 — January 25, 2022

Sam Rendon, 75, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 25, 2022. Mr. Rendon was born on April 15, 1946, in Elmore, Ohio, to the late Ignacio Rendon and Esther (Segura) Rendon.

He met Martha Aguero, the love of his life, and they were married on October 27, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas.

Mr. Rendon was involved in insurance sales from 1975, until his retirement in 2013. He was an avid book reader and faithfully dedicated to volunteering at his church, Alliance Church, where he was a member. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.

Those left to cherish his memory and honor include his wife, Martha; two sons, David Rendon of Littlefield and Mark Alonzo of Ft. Valley, Georgia; four brothers, Danny Rendon of Littlefield, Joe Rendon of Dallas, Rudy Rendon of Houston and Robert Rendon of Amarillo; two sisters, Alice Abeyta of Littlefield and Irene Mora of Austin; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Isabella Alonzo.

Visitation for Sam will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday evening, February 1, 2022, at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Prayer services will be held that evening at 7 PM. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Alliance Church, 5825 34th Street in Lubbock. Pastors Jesse Rincones and David J. Ramirez will be the officiants. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Ordonez, Ignacio "Jay" Ibarra, Manuel Ramirez, Lupe Garcia, David J. Ramirez and Jesse Rincones III.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Sam's memory to the Rendon Memorial Fund, c/o Alliance Church, 5825 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407.
