Jackie Sue Lisemby

Lubbock

Jackie Sue Lisemby, 97, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 17, 2022.  She was born on February 22, 1925, in Abernathy, Hale County, Texas, to the late J. W. Brooks and Pearl (Starkey) Brooks.

She attended Abernathy High School, graduating in 1943.  She met and married Frank Lisemby and was married in Clovis, New Mexico.  Mr. Lisemby preceded her in death in December 2002.  She loved to golf and was a bowler in her younger years.  She was a member of New Home Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Stephen Lisemby and Dennis Lisemby, both of New Home; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one son; Danny Lisemby in July 2015; two brothers, J. W. Brooks and T. M. Brooks; three sisters, Polly Keough, Wilella Ball and Evelyn Pipkin.

There will be no visitation for Mrs. Lisemby.  Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.  Calvin Gray will be the officiant.  Final rites and interment in the City of Lubbock Cemetery are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Jackie’s memory be made to the New Home Baptist Building Fund, New Home Baptist Church, 128 N. 4th Street, New Home, TX 79383.
