James Thiebaud

James Dale Thiebaud, 65, of Idalou, Tx, passed away on April 22, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 3rd, 1957, to Norman Martin Thiebaud and Cardelia Jordan in Odessa, Tx.

James married Donna Jean Bartlett November 21st, 1992, in Petersburg, Tx. James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg then later in Idalou.  James had a love for education and earned his master’s degree in education, teaching science for many years but his favorite subject to teach the next generations was AG. He retired from being an educator in 2019. He was known to be an avid reader, reading large novels in the short time span of one day. When he wasn’t reading, he could be found on a lake fishing away for hours.

He is survived by his mother Cardelia Thiebaud of Idalou, Tx; wife Donna Thiebaud of Lubbock, Tx; sister Linda Turner of Idalou, Tx; stepdaughter Jessica Crabb of Lubbock, Tx; stepsons Jeremy Crabb of Lubbock, Tx, and Gabriel Crabb of Garland, Tx; grandchildren Preslea Ellis, Nolan Ellis, Jaylee Jones, Kali Jones, Sydney Jones, Paxton Crabb, and Lily Crabb.

He is preceded in death by his father Norman Thiebaud.

Graveside services will be held April 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Idalou Cemetery.

The family ask donations to be made to the First Baptist Church of Idalou in honor of James.
