Jan Assiter

April 18, 1942 — January 20, 2022

Jan Assiter of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the age of 79. She was born May 18, 1942 in Rising Star, Texas to O. T. and Velma (Roach) Marsh. Jan married Bobby Assiter in June of 1961. Shortly after the couple purchased Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, she worked side-by-side with him. After several years, she became a stay-at-home mother where she was very active in school activities, making costumes for musicals, and serving at church functions. She was an active member at Monterey Baptist Church for 10 years, Oakwood Baptist Church for 34 years, and most recently at Bacon Heights Baptist Church. Jan will best be remembered as a servant, caregiver, and excellent cook.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lezlie Langford and husband Chris of Arlington, Amy Brown and husband George of The Colony, and Brett Assiter of Lubbock; grandchildren, Kevin Langford and wife Leah, SPC Cade Langford, George Brown III, Spencer Brown, Lindsay Assiter, Aaron Assiter, and Colby Assiter; and she was expecting great grandchildren in 2022.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby on January 10, 2022.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Bacon Heights Baptist Church with entombment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
