Jarita Pascasio

March 13, 1952 — February 9, 2022

Jarita Ann Pascasio, 69, of Lubbock passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was born March 13, 1952, in Paris, Texas to Horton Winifred and Melba Guinn (Bankhead) Holbert. Her family moved to Lubbock where Jarita graduated from Coronado High School in 1970. She married Edgar Pascasio, Jr. on October 24, 1984, in Lubbock, Texas.

Jarita's passion in life was to pour love into those around her whether that was through the relationships she had, amazing food she cooked, or the countless hours she spent sewing baby blankets, baby bedding, cheer uniforms, Halloween costumes that belonged on the cover of a magazine, Easter dresses, wedding dresses, and whatever else her beautifully talented and creative mind could dream up. You were wrapped and clothed in her love and doing this filled her with so much joy. Jarita would gladly give you the shirt off her back and then make you a cute one to wear.

If you knew Jarita, you knew abounding love and kindness with a sprinkle of ornery. If you were friends with Jarita and had kids, those kids were loved like her own. She is fondly remembered as a "second Mom" to many of the kids that passed through her home over the years. She never met a stranger. Jarita was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend to many, but her most beloved role in life was being Gigi to her three "loves".

Although the last few years were not kind to Jarita's health, and the outward appearance of her toughest years were evident, her love and kindness was steadfast and unwavering for those around her. May she rest in peace and wholeness with our Lord and Savior of a life well-lived.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ed Pascasio, Jr.; sons, Jason Allen (Melissa) and Erik Allen, all of Houston; daughter, Kimberly Pascasio (Drew Lance) of Lubbock; siblings, Jerry Holbert of Lubbock, Rhonda Glass of Greenville, and Robby Holbert of Lubbock; and three granddaughters (Caiden, Presley, and Channing). Jarita was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Combest Family Funeral Homes. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
