Jay Brent Green, 54, of Wolfforth passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014. The family will receive visitors 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. A gathering of celebration of Jay’s life will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Victory Life Baptist Church with interment at 3:00 p.m. at the Petersburg Cemetery.
Jay Brent was born on January 29, 1960 in Spur, Texas to the late J. T. and Frances Green. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1978 and worked as a manager and salesman for La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Lubbock from 1997 until May 2014. He was a member of Victory Life Baptist Church and loved attending his Home Bible Study Group where he made many wonderful friends who also walked by faith. He loved God, golf, and working in his yard. As a volunteer at Covenant Lakeside Hospital, he encouraged both children and adults who suffered with cancer, where he was able to share his love of Christ through comfort, laughter, and prayer.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Debbie, whom he married on May 28, 1998; son, Ryan Pate and girlfriend Jessica of Austin; daughter, Angela Harris Wilde and husband Matt of Providence Village, Texas; son, Cody Harris of Lubbock; three precious grandchildren, Trinity and Braylie Harris, Dylan Gary and their mother’s Jaimee Thrash and Tiffany Gary; two sisters, Beverly O’Dell and husband Gene of Lubbock and Pam Trout and husband Jim Bob of Fritch; and brother-in-law, Gary Barton and wife Lynn of Amarillo.
