Jeanie Stone of Tahoka passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the age of 64. She was born on September 29, 1961, in Tahoka to Lonnie and Ravis (Martin) Isbell. A graduate of Tahoka High School in 1980, Jeanie lent her talents and energy to the local flower shop. On May 15, 1981, she married Kent Stone at the First United Methodist Church. The couple moved to Lubbock shortly after they married where she began working for Lubbock National Bank. Upon returning to their roots in Tahoka, Jeanie's life blossomed anew as a devoted mother to three boys. Balancing motherhood with professional endeavor, she opened an in-home daycare that lovingly served families, tending to children from infancy through five years old until her own sons had grown. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her home; for 14 years she served as the Emergency Medical Services coordinator before retiring from Lynn County Abstract. Jeanie has a vibrant personality that was outgoing and fun-loving. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, but her greatest joy was being a Grandma.
She is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, Kent; sons: Kent Stone and wife Jill of Tahoka, Brent Stone and wife Jeri of Trenton, Texas, and Ty Stone of Tahoka; siblings: Charles Isbell and wife Tracy of O’Donnell, and Lonnetta Hudgens of Tahoka; grandchildren: Kara, Chelsea, Matthew, and Logan; and great-grandson, Jack.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ernie Isbell.
