In Loving Memory of Jerry Perez
Jerry Ray Perez went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2026, where he was reunited with his beloved wife, Rita, who preceded him in death in 2013.
Born and raised in Post, Texas, Jerry graduated from Post High School, where he played football and developed a lifelong love for the game. He remained a devoted football fan throughout his life, especially cheering on his favorite team, the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
He later made his home in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked for many years as a self-employed contractor, proudly serving the San Antonio and Austin communities.
Jerry was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle who cherished his family above all else. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to visit, whether in person or over the phone. He was known for his sense of humor, outgoing personality, and strong faith.
He is survived by his two sons, Jeremy Scott Diaz and Paul Perez, both of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Jayvin, Joshua, and Jonathan Perez, all of San Antonio, Texas; his sisters, Josie Quintana (Johnny) of Post, Texas, Margie Atilano (Juan) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Gloria Haynes of Dallas, Texas; and his brothers, Joe Perez (Irene) and Johnny Perez, both of Post, Texas.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Janie and Paul Perez; his sisters, Louisa (Scalone) and Christina; and his brothers, Paul Jr., Freddy, Lupe, and David.
Jerry's legacy of love, faith, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with loved ones in the presence of the Lord.
