New Home

 

Jimmie A. Rollins of New Home passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the age of 87.  She was born August 17, 1925 in Comanche to George Henry and Sarah Estel (Swearingen) Greenlee.  Jimmie grew up and attended school in Hasse where she met and married Tom Rollins on November 17, 1942.  The couple moved to Carlsbad in 1951 and made their home raising their children there for 20 years.  Jimmie's servant heart touched the lives of the people and children in Gustine, Idalou and Coleman, before residing in New Home in 2011.  She was an active member at the churches she attended serving as a teacher in the nursery.  She was a diligent worker at tending to the up keep of the church and its yard.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Jean Gray and husband Calvin of New Home; son, David Rollins of Spokane, WA; brother, Don Greenlee and wife Gwen of McKinney, TX; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; children, Joe, Ronnie and Mary Kathryn Rollins; and siblings, Homer Greenlee and B Patton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes.  Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Gustine, Texas with interment to follow at Sardis Cemetery.
