Jimmy Dean Lemmond, 65, was called home on November 27, 2022, with his daughter Priscilla by his side. Jimmy was born October 12, 1957, to Bobby and Naomi (Duncan) Lemmond, in Lubbock, TX. He was next to the last of 6 children.
Jimmy enjoyed football and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, even cheering for them while on the ventilator. He loved storms, listening to the Police scanners, and classic-rock music. In his younger days, Jimmy worked in construction and made a proud name for himself, as a backhoe operator, for the remainder of his working years. Jimmy enjoyed having fun and had the most unforgettable, contagious, laugh. He loved deeply and loved everyone. He was quite a jokester and knew how to make everyone around him laugh.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Molly, his parents, Bobby and Naomi, a brother Ronnie, and a stepson Roy Penn. Those left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Pricilla (Billy) Barnett, Christie Lemmond, sons, Chuck Shelton, Robert Penn, and Joe Brassfield; ex-wife and friend Ruthie Shelton; 7-grandchildren, Desiree (littlen), Xavier (britches), Nazareth (buzz), Zoe (zo little), Kazmar (boi), Zakary (peanut), and Conner (con).
Jimmy’s family will schedule a gathering of remembrance later; date, time, and location will be announced. Arrangements were entrusted to Combest Family Funeral Homes.
