Jo White nee Mary Jo Cahill

Jo White (nee Mary Jo Cahill) died July 5, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas.  Jo was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 26, 1937, to Hugh Joseph Cahill, Jr., and Suzanne Heekin Cahill.  She graduated from high school at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Clifton of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1954.  She married John Thomas White of Austin, Texas, on July 2, 1958.  While caring for three daughters and working part-time at University Ministries, she returned to college, graduating with her BA in General Studies in 1980.  After being accepted at Texas Tech School of Law, she served on the Law Review and graduated in 1983.  She worked as a permanent Briefing Attorney for the Honorable John C. Akard, Bankruptcy Judge.  She retired in 2000.

Jo is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Elizabeth (Matt) McGinnis of Lubbock, Victoria (Don) Duncan of Frisco, Elaine Bennett (Paul) Dacy of Roswell, NM; grandchildren, Will, David, and Kevin McGinnis, Amanda and Michael Duncan, and Drew and Jonathan Dacy; and one great grandson, Ari Dacy.

A Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.  A memorial mass will follow beginning at 6:00 p.m.
