Jordyn Lynne Dabelstein, a vibrant and caring soul whose kindness touched the lives of many, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Lubbock at the age of 22. Born to Carl and Melodey Dabelstein on November 20, 2003, in Overland Park, Kansas, Jordyn was the third child. She proved to be a testament to dedication, warmth, and a yearning to make a difference in the world around her.
Jordyn graduated from Eastland High School in 2022, where she was not only an outstanding student but also deeply involved in FFA throughout her high school years. Her passion for agriculture and livestock shone brightly during her senior year, when she proudly showed heifers and qualified for the world competition through the Texas Longhorn Association. Beyond her agricultural pursuits, Jordyn was a dedicated athlete, participating in powerlifting, volleyball, basketball, softball, and track — an impressive testament to her strength and determination.
Currently a junior at Texas Tech University, Jordyn was on track to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, driven by her heartfelt goal to work in labor and delivery. Her commitment to this path reflected the grace and patience she carried in her every interaction. Jordyn’s natural ability with people was evident through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Primrose Retirement Community, where she always wore a smile and found genuine joy in caring for the elderly.
Those who knew Jordyn remember her as a graceful, patient, and compassionate young woman who had a remarkable knack for connecting with people on a deep level. Her warm spirit and dedication to her work left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cared for and worked alongside.
She is survived by her parents, Carl and Melodey Dabelstein, Jr. of Eastland; siblings, Cheyanne Webre and husband Gregory of Cisco, Cody Dabelstein and wife Megan of Winder, Georgia, and Kassidy Dabelstein of Eastland; as well as her adored nephews, Kale, Everett, and Clayton. She also leaves behind her grandparents, Carl and Karen Dabelstein, Sr. of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Gloria Williamson of Gladstone, Missouri. Jordyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Susan Dabelstein and Jim Williamson.
Celebration of Life services are pending at this time.
In lieu of flowers a GoFundMe has been set up to assist with medical expenses. The family plans to use excess funds to establish Jordyn's Legacy, a foundation that will support future high school students in their FFA journey. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-jordyns-family-in-their-time-of-loss?attribution_id=sl:f02ce264-518a-440c-aa4b-b5392ba6e5eb&lang=en_US&ts=1775687659&utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&utm_content=amp17_te&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link
