Juan "Johnny" Guevara

Juan Jose “Johnny” Guevara of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the age of 49.  He was born February 6, 1964 in Petersburg. He worked as a carpet layer.  Johnny loved rock-n-roll music and shopping at the thrift stores.  He liked football and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan.  Johnny enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and lived life to the fullest with no regrets.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Margarita Martinez of Colorado City; daughter, Jaquelyn Guevara and husband Thomas Avalos of Lubbock; two sons, Jacob Guevara and wife Victoria Ramirez and Julian Guevara, all of Lubbock; five brothers, Guadalupe Guevara of Lubbock, Anthony Guevara and Eloy Guevara, both of Austin, Manuel Guevara of Colorado City, and Rogelio Guevara of Amarillo; three sisters, Gracia Contreras of Austin, Dora Rodriguez of Colorado City, and Alicia Rendon of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Juan Jeremyah Guevara, and Angel, Jaxxon and Maggie Cortez.

Juan was preceded in death by his father, Juan and six grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
