Juan Deleon Mojica, 76, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 15, 1949, in Idalou, to the late Frank and Aurelia (Deleon) Mojica, Juan was a man defined by his faith, his family, his music, and his hardworking hands.
As a self-employed cement finisher, Juan was a master of his craft. He took immense pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. When he was not working, Juan found rhythm in life as a talented guitarist and drummer. He had a playful spirit and found great joy in the simple pleasures of playing bingo and trying his luck with the lottery.
Above all else, Juan's heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who took immense pride in the lives of his children and their families. He cherished every moment spent in their company, finding joy in the unique spirit of each family member.
Those left to honor his memory include his four children and their spouses: Edelmiro Saldano (Sylvia), Gilbert Mojica (Savannah), Dianna Mejia (Juan), and Daniel Mojica (Tina), all of Lubbock. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Molina, Victoria Covarrubio, and Julian Mojica, all of Lubbock, and Frank Mojica, Jr., of Plainview. Juan's legacy of love continues through five generations, including 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation for Mr. Mojica will be from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, next to Combest Family Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 PM that evening. Final rites and interment will be held at the Graveside at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home. Father Martin Pina, of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, will be the officiant.
Pallbearers will be Angel Mejia, Daniel Mojica, Gilbert Mojica, Daniel Mojica, Jr., Oscar Molina and Abel Molina.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Beyond Faith Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided to Juan. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his love and guidance will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
