Judith "Judy" Kaye Jackson

Judith "Judy" Kaye Jackson, 82, of Lubbock, was gently lifted into heaven to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning of Friday, August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born on June 18, 1944, in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, to the late John and Eva Marie (Parsons) Fenstermacher. She was raised in the Catholic school but later moved to the Baptist faith.

She attended high school in Vinita, Oklahoma, graduating from Vinita High School in 1961. She then attended South Plains College and received her Associates Degree in Realty in 1982.

Judy met the love of her life, Eddie Jack Jackson, and they were united in marriage on February 3, 1967 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

She loved to play cards and was a fantastic gin player. She also loved to play video games, crafting, cooking for others, and spoiling her grandchildren. Music was Judy’s lifelong passion, beginning at just nine years old when she became a regular performer on Tulsa’s Big Red Jamboree and was affectionately known as “the little girl with the great big voice.” Judy’s remarkable talent led to appearances on Red Foley’s Jubilee USA, the Midwestern Hayride, National Barn Dance, and Monitor Calling. A recording she submitted to Lawrence Welk’s Top Tunes and New Talent competition led to several appearances connected with the Lawrence Welk Show and helped open the door to a recording contract. Along the way, she shared the stage with beloved entertainers including Roy Rogers, Jim Reeves, Johnny Lee Wills, and Bob Wills, who signed her at age 16 to sing with the Texas Playboys and became like a second father to her. Judy later continued sharing her gift of music as a vocalist and recording artist with “The Eddie & Judy Jackson Show,” performing throughout West Texas and bringing joy to countless audiences through the music she loved. Later The Eddie and Judy Jackson show entertained the troops with USO Tours, played at Las Vegas venues and other venues across the United States. They eventually made their home in Lubbock, Texas and continued their music career.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include two daughters: Ginger Chaney (Troy) of Lubbock; Gina Stockman (Bobby) of New Deal and; 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death were her husband (Eddie), son (Cody Jack Jackson), parents and siblings (Junior, Logan and Mary Lee Fenstermacher).

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Lubbock. Chaplain Mary Gorden, of Beyond Faith Hospice, will be the officiant.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Stockman, Cody Stockman, Bryce Stockman, Shayne Chaney, Joel Jarrett, Clayton Dorcas, Zachary Jackson and Cole Massey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to The Parkinson's Foundation or to the Alzheimer's Foundation, in memory of Judy.
