Judy Waggoner of Lubbock passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on January 11, 1942, in Clovis, New Mexico to Grady and Dolly (Hammonds) Herington. Judy grew up in Farwell, Texas and graduated from Farwell High School. On March 9, 1962, Judy married Winston Waggoner in Farwell. They made their home in Dimmitt for many years where Judy's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly. She owned and operated three successful businesses: Diet Center, Judilee's Calico Teapot, and The Barn Bed and Breakfast. Her artistic talents flourished as she became a talented decorator, enchanting many with her beautiful floral arrangements crafted for any occasion.
The couple moved to Lubbock in the early 2000's and became faithful members of Kings Ridge Church of Christ. For many years, she proudly served as a teacher's aide at Honey Elementary before retiring.
She is survived by her children, Quint Waggoner and fiancé Tiffany of Dimmitt, Holly Stone and husband Pete of Woodstock, Virginia, and Molly Setliff and husband Joe of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Herington, and wife Kay of Roanoke, TX.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved parents; husband Winston in 2015; and two siblings, Jerry Herington and Joyce Holland.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm, Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, January 30, 2026, at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. A private burial will take place later in the day.
