Justin was home-schooled after briefly attending Shallowater Schools. During high school Justin worked with a Lubbock based Professional Truck Racing Team. After being instrumental in the Team obtaining a national sponsor, upon his high school graduation in 1998 Justin followed the Team to Atlanta, Georgia, where they based their national headquarters. He remained in Atlanta for several years competing in racing and working with Rockwell Automotive in custom auto design and restoration, continuing his life-long love of everything automotive.

Justin returned to Texas, first working with a State Farm agent in Plano before returning to Lubbock to manage the office of his stepfather at Tommy Reece State Farm Insurance for many years as part of the family business. A fan of Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, Justin was an early participant and founder of costuming organizations that participated in visiting children’s hospitals, raising funds for charitable causes, and participating in parades and events. His self-styled “Jurassic Park” Jeep has been a popular and recognizable fixture in area car shows and events. In Lubbock, Justin was a long-time member and officer with the 501st Legion and Mandalorian Mercs, as well as being an avid gamer of all types.

He grew up in his family’s home congregation at Quaker Ave. Church of Christ and was baptized by his grandfather minister Hubert E. Setliff of Plainview.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his mother, Myra Booth Reece of Lubbock; one brother Lannon Booth of Lubbock; one sister: Charla Nicholson and husband Jeremy of Lubbock, six nephews: Nathan, Noah, Henry, Freedy, Bennet, and Ozzy Nicholson; aunts Martha Rhoades of Lubbock, Linda Roberts and husband Russ of Eden, Texas, Darlene Lee and husband Rob of Southern Pines, NC, uncle Mark Williams of Buda, Linda Lewis of Altus, Oklahoma, Patricia Griffith of Lubbock and Debra Wood and husband Garlon of Lubbock; stepfather, Tommy Reece of Lubbock.
