Kathy Mae McClure, 67, of Lubbock, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was born December 2, 1955, in Lubbock to Jerry and Alice McClure. She was a lifelong resident of Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High school. Kathy worked various jobs throughout her life. She owned a trucking company for many years and had a skillfulness for accounting and bookkeeping.
Kathy was fun-loving, compassionate and quick-witted. When she loved, she loved big and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for you. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She could lift anyone's spirit up at the toughest of times. Her fondness for animals surpassed the word for love and she would sometimes joke, "she liked animals more than people." She enjoyed being outdoors and appreciated spending her free time with her dogs and horses. She also loved traveling and had many big adventures planned but the mountains were by far her favorite place to go.
She was a loving and devoted mother first and foremost. She treasured her family, children and in addition her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. One of her favorite traditions with her grandkids was driving around looking at Christmas lights, picking pumpkins out and taking them to the corn maze.
Kathy is the loving and devoted mother of her daughter Kari Brewer and her husband Joey of Lubbock; her son Brent Meeks of Lubbock; her sister Vista McClure Autry of Lubbock and her brother, Mitchell McClure of Lubbock; and her grandchildren, Kaden, Kash and Brynlee.
