Kelly Ann Cruz, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Honduras. Born on November 18, 1973, in Lubbock, Texas, Kelly's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, creativity, and unwavering dedication to both her family and her career.
Kelly graduated from Friendship High School in 1992, a milestone that marked the beginning of her lifelong commitment to learning and growth. She further honed her skills by earning a certificate of Legal Secretary from the American Commercial College, a testament to her determination and hard work. These early achievements laid the foundation for a remarkable career.
For almost two decades, Kelly proudly served as the Communication Manager for the Georgetown Police Department—a role she cherished deeply. Through her work, she became a trusted voice within the community, bridging understanding and fostering connections. Her passion for this work was evident every day, and she approached her responsibilities with grace, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.
Beyond her professional life, Kelly was a creative soul who found joy in bringing beauty and sweetness into the world. She delighted in collecting handbags, crafting candies, making specialized popcorn and cotton candy, and always experimenting in the kitchen. Christmas held a special place in her heart; decorating and celebrating the season was a tradition that brought immense joy both to her and those around her.
Kelly's heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her loved ones, creating cherished memories through countless travel adventures with her family. Together with her loving husband, Jesse Cruz, whom she married on June 21, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas, they built a home filled with laughter and warmth. Their family includes their daughters Alyssa, Ali, and Adi, their son Dustin, and their two precious grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward the legacy of love she so generously gave. Alongside them, Kelly's parents, Whit and Paula Childers, and her sister, Kasey Bozeman, remain pillars of strength and remembrance.
Kelly’s affection extended even to her two beloved puppies, Mona and Gizzy, who brought her endless comfort and companionship during her quieter moments. Her nurturing spirit touched all creatures great and small.
Her loss leaves a profound space in the hearts of those who knew her—her family, friends, colleagues, and the many whose lives she touched with kindness and sincerity. Kelly Ann Cruz's legacy is one of love, creativity, and dedication. She taught all who knew her the importance of cherishing every moment, embracing joy in expression, and standing steadfast in commitment to those we hold dear.
As we remember Kelly, we hold close to the memories of her warm laughter, her gentle wisdom, and the vibrant light she brought into the world. Though she has departed from this earthly life, the imprint of her spirit will forever dance in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
