Krista Lee Knorr

February 12, 1983 — September 18, 2025

Lubbock

Krista Lee Vaughn (Knorr), entered into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on September 18, 2025, after a long battle with her health. The youngest of four children, Krista was born on February 12, 1983, to William “Bill” Knorr of Houston, Texas, and Madeleine Tretton of Farmington, New Mexico. She loved fireworks and live music, especially bluegrass and the blues. She was so gifted that she taught herself to read music and play the guitar at a young age. Krista had a playful and adventurous spirit, full of vitality and a zest for life. She enjoyed traveling to explore new places and meet new people. Krista was fun! She was most content in the outdoors, especially the Colorado mountains and Port Aransas, Texas. She loved river rafting, skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking, softball, and a number of other recreational activities. She also loved tulips, carrot cake, and lighthouses, joys that she shared with her mother and grandmother. After graduating from Weber State University in 2012 with a degree in Radiography, Krista proceeded to work for multiple medical institutions within New Mexico and Lubbock, Texas providing radiology services in hospital systems and outpatient clinics. She held advanced radiography certifications in mammography, CT, MRI, and OR. She was brilliant and incredibly skilled at her profession but never lost sight of the person she was serving. Her genuine compassion and sincerity were evident in the way that she made others feel—seen, welcome, accepted, and included. She genuinely cared about people, but, most of all, Krista loved her daughter, Brooklyn, and the friends and family who were closest to her. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, and wife, and we will cherish her smile, laughter, and how she lit up a room. We will miss her quick-wit, strong will, authentic talks, and the way she could fix almost anything. Yet we have this assurance, that the redeemed of the Lord will return and come to Zion with singing and crowned with unending joy. Joy and gladness will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. During her final moments in this life, surrounded by those who loved her dearly, Krista reaffirmed her confidence that she knew she was going home. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date, and friends and family will be notified once details have been confirmed.
