September 28, 1936 — January 8, 2026

Leota Jordan, a beloved figure to all who knew her, passed away on January 8, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on September 28, 1936, in Desert, Texas, Leota led a life steeped in warmth, joy, and family. She made her mark as a diligent bookkeeper, where her precision and dedication were matched only by her love for those closest to her.

Her heart found its home in family gatherings, where laughter and memories were abundant. Leota took pride in her role as a mother to Pam Carpenter and Joe Don Jordan, cherished by her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom carried pieces of her spirit forward with them.

As a passionate sports enthusiast, Leota was a fervent supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball program, her spirit indomitable whether cheering on her teams or engaging in a spirited game of bowling. She was not only a dedicated fan but also a motorsport aficionado, finding thrill in motocross racing, an unexpected delight that showcased her zest for life.

Leota is remembered with love by those she leaves behind, yet her absence is felt deeply. She is reunited with her husband, Donald Ray Jordan, and her beloved mother, Mae Hood Mahan, in a peaceful embrace that transcends time.

Visitation will be held at Venue on Broadway in Lubbock on January 14, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, allowing family and friends to gather and share in fond memories. A graveside service is scheduled for January 15, 2026, at Lubbock Cemetery at 2:00 PM, where her legacy will be honored, and where she will forever rest among the very earth she cherished.

In celebrating Leota’s remarkable journey through life, we remember her as a loving custodial presence, a nurturing spirit, and an unwavering figure of strength and joy among her family and friends.
