Leslie Jennings McNiel

Leslie Jennings McNiel of Lubbock passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 77.  He was born September 8, 1937 in Marion County, Texas to the late Leonard and Mazelle (Campbell) McNiel.  Les graduated from Lubbock High School and went on to receive his Industrial Engineering Degree from Texas Tech University in 1961.  He spent his career as an engineer, most notably for Boeing and Lone Star Steel.  He later worked for the Dillard's Corporate Headquarters in the construction division.  Les married Linda Kelley on August 6, 1960 in Lubbock.  After more than 52 years of marriage, Linda preceded him in death on December 22, 2012. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Sean McNiel and wife Crystal of Lubbock; daughter, LeighAnn Heil and husband Robert of Round Rock; and three grandchildren, Ryan Heil, and Elizabeth and Jonathan McNiel.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
