Leta Faye (Anderson) Sarten

Leta Faye (Anderson) Sarten, 95, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday evening, November 25, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1930, in Crosbyton, Texas, to the late Christopher Delzo Anderson and Mattie Lee (Lenoir) Anderson.

Leta loved to work in her yard, reading, visiting shut-ins, sending cards and worked with the World Bible Study. She went on many mission trips with Senior AIM members. She worked as an upholster for Texas Tech University. She was member of Sunset Church of Christ for 34 years.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her two daughters: Leta May Coddington and Cleta Cook, both of Lubbock; daughters-in-law: Phyllis Montgomery and Denise Jennings; two brothers: Tommy Anderson and Marshal Anderson. She also leaves behind her six beloved grandchildren: Michelle (Darrell) McCurdy, Melissa (Craig) Anderson, Robert Cook, Bill Coddington, Nathaniel Jennings and Christopher Jennings. In addition, her ten wonderful great-grandchildren: Meredith McCurdy, Parker McCurdy, Cole Anderson, Travis Anderson, Ethan Hill, Logan Hill, Destiny Cook, Jazmyn Cook, Ian Cook and Annabelle Jennings. Preceding Leta in death are her parents, Christopher Delzo and Mattie Lee Anderson; four brothers: Leon Anderson, Albert Anderson, Wilburn Anderson and Alvin Anderson; two sons: Roy Montgomery and Billy Jennings; two granddaughters: Janella Hill and Sabrina Jennings, and a great grandson, Joseph Cook.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, in the auditorium of Sunset Church of Christ, 3723 34th Steet, Lubbock, TX 79410, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Rodney Roberts, Nat Cooper, Ron Bontrager and Todd Davis will be officiating. Final rites and interment will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery, in Crosbyton, TX, under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.

The pallbearers will be Bill Coddington, Bill Pittillo, Gary Havenhill, Don Higgins, Brian Allamon and Richard Loter.

In lieu of the customary offering of floral tributes, the family asks that you remember Leta by donating, in her memory, to the Senior AIM Program at Sunset Church of Christ or to the Lubbock Children’s Home.
