Linda Ann Lewis

Linda Ann Lewis passed away at her home in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by family in the early morning hours of September 19, 2025.

Linda was born on September 11th, 1949, to Arthur and Carmela Lombardi (nee Coltrara) in Los Angeles, California. She was a 1967 graduate of Alverno Heights Academy in Sierra Madre, CA and would go on to attend Pasadena City College where she would obtain her Associates of Arts Degree in 1969.

Upon graduation, she took a position with Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles – a step that would be the beginning of a life in banking and finance. Linda would go onto attend the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. It was here that she would secure her Master’s Degree and more importantly, the love of her life in Royce Lewis.

Together, they would embark on a journey as life and business partners that would span nearly 50 years. In 1986, Royce and Linda would create Capital Mortgage Services of Texas. While their initial work would be in the origination of mortgage loans; by the time all was said and done, Capital Mortgage Services would grow into a multi-million dollar company servicing loans for clients across the US.

It was at Capital Mortgage that Linda would lead employees both professionally and personally. Her office door would most always be open to give time, love, guidance or whatever was needed by any member of her staff. Throughout the year, she would hold celebrations for staff and family at both the office and her home. She would happily give to many different organizations in Lubbock as a supporter of the Performing Arts. But what Linda really loved were her Red Raiders.

Along with Royce, Linda would support Texas Tech University as a season-ticket holder for numerous sports. As a donor, most notably with the creation of the Royce and Linda Lewis Player Development Center serving the Texas Tech baseball program. You would see her at the Texas Tech Football Kickoff Luncheon or, most recently, Linda was inducted into the Silver Spur Society at Texas Tech University. She loved being a Red Raider.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Arthur P. Lombardi (Lindsey) of Hermosa Beach, California and Robert J. Lombardi (Maudeen) of Quartzsite, Arizona. Her Son, Royce C. Lewis IV (Brandi) of Idalou, Texas. Stepdaughters Jennifer Shaw (Rusty) of Lubbock and Amy Cohen (Bill) of Slaton, Texas. Grandchildren Brandon Shaw and Shannon, Melanie and Claire Cohen along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard B. Lombardi and her husband of over 40 years, Royce C. Lewis III.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, from 5-7 pm at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway St. in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway St. Final rites and interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.
