Linda Kay (Bratton) Prince passed away peacefully on September 10th. 2025, in Lubbock Texas, with her family by her side. Linda lived a beautiful and full life. She was kind, fun loving and encompassed style and class.

Linda was born October 17th., 1942 to Lt. Col. Willard Landers and Geneva Katherine (Adams) Bratton in San Antonio, Texas. Her father was in the United States Army, so she had the opportunity to live in several States as a child including Arkansas, Washington D.C. and Maine. Linda graduated in 1960 from Dumas High School in Dumas, Arkansas. She has remained friends with many of her classmates and cherished those relationships.

After Graduation Linda attended the University of Arkansas Fayetteville from 1960-1962. In 1963, Linda moved to Little Rock, AR. and began working at the State Capitol for the Publicity and Parks Commission as an Ambassador. As an ambassador, she represented the State of Arkansas and enjoyed the sports, boat and travel shows the most during this time.

As a child, Linda had become interested in becoming a stewardess after a visit to the Washington D.C. airport. In 1964, Linda interviewed with Central Airlines in Little Rock and was offered a position shortly after. She took a leap of faith and moved herself to Dallas, Texas without knowing anyone but excited for her new opportunity with Central. Linda worked for Central and Frontier Airlines from 1964 to 1971. During her tenure, Linda was awarded an Orchid Award for Service Excellence and received several letters of recognition from her supervisors, co-workers and customers. One letter, in particular, from an airline passenger read, “While the flight was a bit hectic, Linda demonstrated absolute confidence, pride, enthusiasm and SMILES making us all feel at ease”. In 1969, Linda was selected by Central Airlines to be one of four models for the launch of their new uniforms. She retired from flying in 1971.

Introduced by her cousin, Linda met Leonard Prince Jr. in 1970. On January 23rd. 1971, Linda and Leonard were married in Dallas, TX. A few years later, they bought a home on Lake Ray Hubbard and made Rowlett, TX. their home. They were blessed with two daughters, Kimberly Kay (1974) and Jaclyn Diane (1979). During this time Linda enjoyed attending her girl’s school events, playing tennis and hosting family and friends for various Holidays and Parties.

In 1993, Linda went back to work as a receptionist for a bank in Rowlett and two years later was offered a position with the Rowlett Police Department in the Records Division. She enjoyed both and made some great friends along the way. Linda then took a position as a receptionist at the Promotion Network in Dallas, a company with several national clients, offices in New York and Chicago, and many talented artists. She enjoyed this role very much and was given the TPN Star Award during her tenure. Linda always said this was one of her favorite jobs because the “Kids” working there kept her young and on her toes! Linda retired in 2008 and later in 2015, she moved to Lubbock to be closer to her daughter Kim and Her family. Linda loved attending Texas Tech Football, watching her granddaughter Abby compete in gymnastics, school Cheer and Volleyball, and attending events at local wineries.

Linda was a Christian at heart, of the Baptist faith, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockwall. Linda’s zest for life was contagious. Her kind heart and gentle spirit made everyone feel welcome. Through many of life’s trials, Linda demonstrated great strength, Class and always maintained a positive, happy attitude. To know her was to love her!

Linda adored travel and was blessed to travel to some amazing destinations with family and friends. A few of her favorite travel destinations included Hawaii, Monte Carlo, Alaska, Switzerland and of course, Las Vegas! Linda had a big heart for animals and enjoyed caring for her cats over the years as well as babysitting her granddog, Ace, whom she called Acey Ducey. Linda also enjoyed shopping, hosting parties and decorating for the Holidays. She loved James Bond movies (Roger Moore was her favorite Bond) and was a football fanatic cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. Linda’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and dear friends, especially over a glass of good red wine!

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Leonard Prince Jr., her daughter Jaclyn Prince, a grandson, Gavin Prince, her father and mother Lt. Col. Willard and Geneva Bratton, and her stepchildren, David Prince, Leonard Prince III and Dana Prince-Spencer.

Those remaining to cherish her memories and continue her legacy are her daughter, Kimberly Kay and her husband Gregory Curlee. Her granddaughter Abby Katherine Curleee of Lubbock, her brother, Dr. Willard Landers (Buddy) Bratton Jr and wife Barbara of Fayetteville AR. Her niece Sophie Bratton of Rogers, AR. Stepson Danny Prince of Afton TN., and Stepdaughter Julie Prince-Goodwin of Temple, TX.
