Manuel was born on July 28, 1954, in Slaton, Texas, to Domingo and Margarita Ramon. On February 20, 1976, he married the love of his life, Eloise Mendez, in Lubbock, Texas. He proudly worked as a certified welder for 35 years.
Manuel never met a stranger. His kindness, generosity, and love for others left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. He always put others before himself. He had a passion for gardening, fishing, building BBQ pits, and cooking—especially tamales. One of his proudest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, who adored his famous homemade popcorn.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Eloise Ramon; his son, Stephen Ramon and wife Teresa; and three grandchildren, Jessie, Stephen Jr., and Tommie Ramon. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Prado, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Margarita Ramon; sisters Alice Vasquez and Rosemary Santos; and brothers Agapito Ramon, Jessie Ramon, Joe Ramon, Juan Ramon, Pedro Ramon, and Jenaro Ramon.
Manuel’s legacy of love, hard work, and selflessness will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
A viewing will take place on Sunday, September 28, from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Combest Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX.
