Margetter Jaushlin, affectionately known as Margie, was born on March 30, 1945, in Limestone County, Texas, to the late KC and Terry Quigley. An extraordinary woman whose kindness, warmth, and quiet strength touched every life she encountered. Margie passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Family was the center of Margie’s world, and she cherished every gathering, especially holidays filled with laughter, food, and the closeness of those she loved most. She is survived by her beloved daughters Sandra Quigley and Lendia Wilson of Lubbock, Texas; Ophelia Jaushlin (Jackie) of Austin, Texas; and Angel Jaushlin (James) of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Yolanda Nash Jaushlin of Jacksonville, Florida. Margie is further survived by her brother JC Quigley (Cleothia) and sister Billie Levy (Edgar) of Lubbock, Texas.
Margie held a special bond with all her grandchildren each of whom brought her great joy, and she leaves behind a large and loving family including numerous, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended relatives who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, KC and Terry Quigley; her brother Ezell and wife Altus Quigley; her eldest daughter Beverly Quigley, son Raymond Booker; her grandson James Sneed, Jr. and her beloved furry friend Skipper Lee Jaushlin.
For decades, Margie devoted her life to caring for families through her work in private home care, where her meticulous attention, gentle spirit, and pride in her craft made every place she tended feel warm, welcoming, and full of comfort. She formed especially meaningful bonds with the Westmoreland and Musselman families, whom she loved dearly and who loved her just as deeply. Their kindness to her over the years was a true blessing, and the connection they shared remained a cherished part of her life. After a lifetime of service, she retired in 2026.
Margie’s faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found joy and purpose in serving her community and in assembly at Unity Baptist Church, where her devotion blossomed. Outside of work and church, she delighted in thrifting adventures, dancing, decorating her home with creativity and care, and tending her garden — a place where color, life, and peace grew under her thoughtful hands.
Margie lived a peaceful, humble and meaningful life, with a gift for making others feel at ease — a steady presence, a comforting smile a gentle word at just the right moment. Though she has departed this world, the warmth of her embrace, the strength of her faith, and the love she poured into her family will continue to shine brightly through all of us.
We rejoice in knowing that she now rests safely in the arms of our Heavenly Father, her earthly battles fought with grace and strength, and her journey home complete. She was, and will always be, the light of our lives.
