In Loving Memory of Marion Dywan Sutton April 22, 1957 – June 17, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marion Dywan Sutton, of Lubbock, Texas, who departed this life on June 17, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born on April 22, 1957, Marion lived a life of quiet strength, simplicity, and kindness. A humble and easygoing man, he found joy in the little things—especially watching his favorite sports, basketball and football. Those who knew Marion appreciated his calm nature, generous spirit, and steady presence.

Marion was a Food and Beverage Expert at Target, where he not only found a job, but formed a second family. His co-workers—Shelly Allen, Tania Giler, Marcos Jauregui, Teresa Cantu, Pete Chapa, and Alize Roberson, who fondly called him “bro”—became close friends and companions. The bonds he built there were a testament to his warm character and loyal heart.

He is lovingly remembered by his family, including nieces and nephews: Ernestine (AJ) Anderson, James (Helen) Anderson, Andren Anderson, Lexie Anderson, David (Chenoa) Anderson, Willie Anderson, Ilecia (Charles, Tamerah, Tamar) Culver, James Ray Anderson (Angie, Xavier, Annjenett, Alexia, Lonnie), and Annie Moore.

Marion was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Oddesa Pruitt, and his beloved sister, Harvey Lee Lacy.

Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Clemente, Steven Odell, Zach McGee, Marcos Jauregui, Bruce Herron, Pete Chapa. Honorary pallbearers are Irene Crowder, and Shelly Allen.. 

Marion’s gentle soul and steady love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and his cherished Target family.
