Mark Harmon Edens

Mark Harmon Edens was born on November 21, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to David and Glynanne Edens. He is survived by his beloved son, Zach; daughter-in-law, Sindhu; and granddaughter, Zoey, of Waxahachie; his twin brother, Dale, of El Paso; his brother, Chris, and sister-in-law, DeEtte, of Levelland; and his father, David, also of El Paso. He is also survived by nephew Grady Edens and his wife, Megan, of Lubbock; nephew Grason Edens, also of Lubbock; and niece Kelsi Moorefield, her husband, Dallon, and their son, Kace, of Snow Camp, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Glynanne Harmon Edens; and his grandparents, Wilburn and Rubifern Harmon, and Jeff and Lillian Edens.

Mark showed an early interest in agriculture and was an active member of the Clint FFA during high school. After graduating from Clint High School in 1976, he pursued a degree in agricultural education at Texas Tech University, graduating in 1980. Over the course of more than 40 years, Mark served as a teacher and administrator in various high schools across Texas and in Deming, New Mexico. He devoted his life to educating young people and making a lasting impact on their lives. Those who knew him recognized his deep passion for livestock—especially show pigs.

Mark loved his son, Zach, dearly and was immensely proud of his granddaughter, Zoey. He worked diligently to be an active presence in Zach’s life and looked forward to spending his remaining years watching Zoey grow.

Mark was a man of faith who knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He was active in his church, taught Sunday School at Trinity Church, and participated in a mission trip to Guatemala in 1992.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
