Marvin Earl Mosley, 84, of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 in Lubbock.
Marvin was born on August 4, 1938 in Gorman, Texas to Shorty Earl Mosley and Estelle Marie Schofield. He was raised in Fort Worth and married Ovella Kay Dennis on October 1, 1958 in Baird. They lived in Deming, NM, where he was district manager for Humphrey Pest Control. They lived in Abilene and Lubbock, where he worked as a mechanic for Exxon and Phillips 66 Gas Stations. They also lived in Cross Plains and his wife, Ovella, preceded him in death on May 7, 2007. He moved back to Lubbock to be closer to family. He enjoyed fishing, horses, woodworking, knives, and guns, and his first car was a 1958 Impala. He was a past member of First Baptist Church in Cross Plains.
Marvin is survived by his three children, Melody Pearson, Allison Wilson Cox, and Rex Mosley, brother, Johnny Mosley, step sister, Sandy Bassett, sister and brother in law, Ann and Sonny Bounds, three grandchildren, Zach, Paige, and Summer, two great grandchildren, Ethan and Kastyn, and niece, Angela Staples and her grandson, RyLee. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Mark Mosley.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Combest Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lubbock. Inurnment graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Cross Plains Memorial Park in Cross Plains, Texas.
