Mary Louise Ogle

Mary Louise Ogle of Lubbock passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the age of 93.  Mary was born the youngest of five children in Santa Anna, Texas on March 6, 1921 to Cecil and Myrtle Curry. She graduated from Santa Anna High School and attended Daniel Baker College in Brownwood. Mary met William Jackson (Jack) Ogle at a Methodist Youth meeting while in high school. The high school sweethearts married on August 30, 1940. Theirs was truly a match made in heaven. In 1946 they moved to Lubbock where their only child, Janice was born.

Mary was a member of several clubs and organizations including bridge clubs, Oakwood Methodist Church and Heritage Study Club. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Mary was the ultimate homemaker, providing a warm loving home life and delicious meals for Jack and Janice. She concentrated on doing something nice for someone else every day.  She was always making goodies or meals for friends. She enjoyed delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Janice and son-in-law Larry Hastings; two grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson and husband Scott and Jeff Hastings and wife Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren, Rachael and Gabriel Thompson.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and all her siblings.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Forrest Heights United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79411.
