Meagan Elyse Allen

Meagan Elyse Allen (Strickland), a longtime resident of Hobbs, NM, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, in Lubbock, TX.

Meagan was born on September 25, 1983, to Buddy and Becky Strickland. Meagan was a proud graduate of Hobbs High and the NMJC where she earned her nursing degree. Meagan worked as a nurse and as the Eunice health clinic manager before moving to Lubbock where she went to work for Dr. Craig Barker’s family health practice. Dr. Barker was a close friend and comforting caretaker for Meagan during her illness. The family would like to express great gratitude to Dr. Barker for his consistent love and support over many years.

Meagan married Jordan Allen and the two went on to found The Bent Nail restaurant in Lubbock. The restaurant provided Meagan with a new way to serve the people of her community. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Lubbock Dream Center. Meagan had a servant’s heart and was a consistent champion for those most in need.

Meagan’s proudest accomplishment in life came with the birth of her daughter, Chanlei. She was a dedicated mother who loved to craft and study the Bible with her sweet little girl. Meagan took great joy in seeing Chanlei work and care for the customers in their family restaurant.

In life, Meagan was known and loved by many. She loved her friends and family and she leaves behind countless smiles on the faces of those who knew her. She was a strong Christian who was guided by her faith. She faithfully attended The Worship Center in Lubbock.

Meagan is survived by her husband Jordan Allen and their daughter, Chanlei, both of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by her parents Buddy and Becky Strickland of Lubbock, brother Aron Strickland and sister in-law Kelli of Shallowater, TX, sister Diane Osborne and brother in-law Wiley of Kerrville, TX, brother Curt Strickland and sister in-law Regina of Sundown, TX, brother Danny Strickland of Levelland, TX, and brother in-law Bryce Taylor of Lubbock, TX.

Special thanks go to Meagan’s in-laws, Ron and Lisa Todd of Hobbs, NM, for their considerable love and support of Meagan during her time of greatest need.

In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to be made in Meagan’s name to the Lubbock Dream Center in Lubbock.
