Melissa "Glitter" Ulery, 49, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. Melissa was born on February 7, 1972, in Lubbock, to Donnie Thorne and the late Paula (Bishoff) Thorne.
She grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1990.
Melissa met Lon Ulery, and they were married on May 25, 2007, in Lubbock, where they have made their home since. She has worked as an account's specialist for Vexus in Lubbock for many years. Gigi loved and cherished her two grandsons, was very family oriented and loved to bake, ride motorcycles and travel with the BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse). She was a member of the Outlaw Church of West Texas.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lon "Chrome"; one son; Justyn McAdoo of Lubbock; her father, Donnie Thorne of Lubbock; one brother, Randall Thorne of Lubbock; one sister, Donna Thorne-Blevins of Lubbock; two grandsons, Jayson and Rhys McAdoo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Thorne, on October 15, 2019.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be planned for a later time. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, Glitter's family requests that memorials in her memory be made to the Children's Miracle Network Lubbock, c/o University Medical Center, 602 Indiana Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79415.
A benefit account for Melissa "Glitter" has been established through Happy State Bank, and donations will be accepted at any Lubbock location.
