Mike Tunde Dunamis, a devoted servant of the Lord whose life was a testament to unwavering faith and boundless kindness, passed away on May 16, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on April 23, 1963, in Kogi, Nigeria, Mike journeyed through life with a heart full of grace and an enduring commitment to ministry, ultimately retiring as a pastor—a role that defined his very being and illuminated his path.
From his earliest days, Mike's life was intertwined with the sacred mission of serving others. His career was a sacred calling, one in which he poured out every ounce of his spirit. Known for his gentle demeanor and welcoming nature, he had a unique gift for making everyone around him feel at peace and embraced. His radiant sense of humor, a light in both joyous and challenging moments, endeared him deeply to family, friends, and his church community alike.
Mike’s life was not only marked by his spiritual leadership but also by his deep love for family. He cherished time spent with his beloved wife, Grace Dunamis, whose steadfast support was his anchor. Together, they nurtured their beautiful daughters—Precious, Roseline, and Favor—each a living legacy of Mike’s compassionate spirit. His heart also remained connected across oceans to his siblings back home in Nigeria, and to the cherished congregation and friends who shared his faith journey.
He was a man who found profound joy and purpose in his calling as a servant of the Lord. This was, beyond all else, his proudest accomplishment—a lifelong ministry dedicated to uplifting souls and enriching lives, Serving as a Pastor for over 34 years. Whether preaching from the pulpit, offering counsel, or simply sharing a moment of fellowship, Mike’s impact was indelible and far-reaching.
The sacred passage Mike made from earth to glory was a triumph of faith and spirit. As he left this world behind, those who loved him remember not only a pastor who led with humility and strength but a man whose kindness and warmth inspired all who knew him.
Let the memories of Mike Tunde Dunamis be a balm and a beacon: his laughter echoing in holiday celebrations with family, his peaceful presence in the quiet moments, and his spirit woven into the very fabric of the church he served so devotedly.
To honor his life and legacy, a visitation with family will be held on May 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Both will take place at Venue on Broadway, located at 2202 Broadway St, Lubbock, TX 79401.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oweleke, whose guidance helped shape the faith and character that defined him.
In this time of remembrance, we celebrate Mike’s extraordinary journey—a life dedicated to love, faith, and service—and hold close the eternal hope that his spirit now rests in the radiant glory he so faithfully sought.
