Myra Nell Lamberth

Myra Nell Caffey Lamberth (March 19, 1923 – September 3, 2026)Myra Nell Caffey Lamberth, a woman of extraordinary strength, unwavering faith, and boundless energy, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at the age of 103.

Born on March 19, 1923, in Hermleigh, Texas, to Ida Floy and Will Caffey, Nell was raised on the family farm as the youngest of ten children. Growing up in a large farm family instilled in her a lifelong work ethic: Nell was exceptionally hardworking, delightfully straightforward, and fiercely strong-willed. She never cared for idleness and was happiest when her hands were busy, and her days were spent doing for others.

After graduating from Hermleigh High School in 1941, Nell married the love of her life, G.T. Lamberth, on December 27, 1941. Together, they shared seventy wonderful years of marriage and adventure until his passing in 2012. During World War II, Nell proudly served her country as a "Rosie the Riveter," embodying the determination and can-do spirit of her generation. Throughout every move and season of life—living in Hawaii, Washington, California, New Mexico, and Texas—her steadfast Christian faith was the anchor that guided her through every circumstance.

Never one to sit still; Nell poured her boundless drive into every venture she touched. Professionally, she worked in retail sales and real estate. Ahead of her time, Nell and G.T. began flipping houses long before it became popular—purchasing homes she listed, remodeling them together, and giving them a new life. Creatively, she was an exceptionally talented seamstress and quilter, creating countless cherished pieces over the decades.

In her leisure time, Nell embraced outdoor adventures, traveling extensively with G.T. in their R.V. to favorite lakes and fishing spots across the country. She had a passion for board games and dominoes, maintaining a sharp, competitive edge well into her centennial years. Even at 102, she could be found at her assisted living facility enthusiastically teaching fellow residents how to play Texas "42.

"Above all, Nell’s life was defined by active love, service, and devotion to her family and community.

Nell is survived by her daughter, Terry Dennis, and husband Larry of Ransom Canyon, Texas; son-in-law Glenn (Kirk) Kuykendall of Burnet, Texas; and daughter-in-law Pam Lamberth of Seguin, Texas. She leaves behind a rich legacy including fourteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, G.T. Lamberth; her parents; three brothers and six sisters; her two sons, Brandon Lamberth and Kerry Lamberth; and her daughter, Candy Kuykendall.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wedgewood South Assisted Living and Hospice of Lubbock for their kind, loving, and attentive care.

A memorial service celebrating Nell’s long and remarkable life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Broadway Church of Christ, 1924 Broadway, in Lubbock, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will follow immediately after the service.
