Myra Minor

Myra Louise Minor, formerly of Abernathy, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was born on April 7, 1991, to Christobal and Nancy (Gomez) Minor. Growing up in Abernathy, Myra was the youngest child of three children. Following her time at that school, she transferred to Shallowater High School, from which she graduated. She attended Texas Tech Health Science Center after following in her mother's footsteps in the medical field. In the years following her graduation, Myra worked as a registered nurse at Covenant Oncology until 2020, after which she became a traveling nurse. As Myra enjoyed traveling, this gave her the opportunity to see more destinations. Aside from traveling, she enjoyed attending concerts and spending time with her family.  

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Austin Jumper, Jr. and Peyten Jumper of Abilene; parents, Christobal and Nancy Minor of Tampa, Florida; siblings, Tina Sorensen and husband Thomas of Lubbock and Christopher “Peppers” Minor and wife Jessica of Tampa, Florida; nieces and nephews, Natalie and Joshua Snow, and Ryan, Madisyn and Zoey Minor; as well as the father of her children, Austin Jumper, Sr.  

Myra was preceded in death by her grandparents, Adolfo C. and Maria Minor and Domingo and Paula Gomez.  

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Venue on Broadway. Following the visitation, the family invites you to join them from 6:00-8:00 pm for a time of sharing fond memories and stories. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, October 4, 2024, at Iglesia Bautista Church in Petersburg with interment to follow at the Petersburg Cemetery. Following the burial the family invites everyone to attend a meal back at the church.
