Myrna Parsley

May 6, 1942 — November 30, 2024

Myrna Jean Bostic Parsley passed away in Matador, Texas on November 30, 2024. Myrna was born on May 6, 1942, in Spur, Texas, to Neva and R.G. Bostic. Myrna graduated from Spur High School, class of 1960. As a child and young woman, she studied both piano and voice. She was an accomplished pianist, playing from memory even in the later years of her life.

Myrna resided in Plainview, Texas for a number of years and worked as a legal secretary. She married Kenneth Parsley on September 18, 1981. In 2004, she and Kenneth moved to Dickens; there she enjoyed spending time with friends and extended family. Throughout her life, Myrna enjoyed painting, crocheting, gardening, and cooking, and she almost always had a much-loved canine companion.

Myrna was preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Bostic; her parents, Neva and R. G. Bostic; and her husband, Kenneth Parsley. She is survived by her sister Dewayna Bostic Tigner and her husband Robert of Arlington, Texas and extended family, Mitzi Taylor-Joplin of Dickens, and Rebel Taylor of Dickens, and their families, along with cousins and friends.

A private burial will be held in Dickens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dickens Volunteer Fire Department or Spur High School Ex-Students Association. The family wishes to thank Matador Nursing Home for their care and kindness during Myrna’s residence there.
