Nancy Caron “Grandma” Forsythe (Pyeatt), age 82, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. She was born on August 22, 1943, in Garland, Texas, to the late Loy and Frances (Dees) Pyeatt.
Nancy was primarily raised in Tulia, Texas, where she attended school and graduated from Tulia High School in 1961. She later attended Texas Tech University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. It was during this time that she met her beloved husband, Larry Forsythe. The two were married on February 5, 1966, in Tahoka, Texas, and began a life centered on love, family, and faith.
Together, they were blessed with two sons, Loy Allen Forsythe, born February 17, 1970, and Lance Arlynn Forsythe, born July 1, 1972. Nancy and Larry began their life together in Tulia before moving to Amarillo and later to Mount Airy, creating a warm and welcoming home wherever they went.
Nancy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a quiet strength about herself and a gift for bringing peace and comfort into any room she entered. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she remained active in her church communities throughout the years.
She found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments—reading novels, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing the piano. She especially loved teaching younger generations to play, passing on both skill and patience. Nancy had a special way of turning every house into a true home, filling it with warmth, good food, and traditions that will live on through her family. Her recipes, lovingly shared, will continue to be made for years to come.
Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether through visits, holidays, or quiet moments together, those memories were among her greatest joys.
She is survived by her son, Allen Forsythe and his wife Anne of Clarksville, Tennessee; her nine grandchildren: Amanda Hughes (husband Tim) of Millsboro, Delaware; Summer Forsythe; Shelbee Forkner (husband Kurt) of Shallowater, Texas; Kieran Forsythe; L. Andrew Forsythe of Clinton, Maryland; Andrew Forsythe of Clarksville, Tennessee; AJ Forsythe of Clarksville, Tennessee; Isabella Forsythe of Clarksville, Tennessee; and Brystol Forsythe of New Deal, Texas; and her four great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Jacobson, Preslee Forsythe, Logan Jacobson, and Parker Forkner. She also leaves behind her precious fur baby, Punkin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Larry Alton Forsythe; her parents, Loy and Frances Pyeatt; her son, Lance Forsythe; her brother-in-law, Jerry Forsythe; her sister-in-law, Dixie Parks; and her grandson-in-law, Kurt Forkner.
Nancy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steady faith, and the quiet love she gave so freely to those around her.
