Norma Jean Moore, 56, of Slaton passed away peacefully in her home with her husband by her side.

Norma was born on September 8, 1965 to Luther and Myrtle Van Winkle in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She grew up in Hamilton, Ohio with 10 siblings; then moved to Burley, Idaho to raise her two sons, Nathanial Lee Hodgson and James Matthew Hodgson. This is where Norma met Michael Edward Moore, II, and they were married June 7,1999 in Hamilton, Ohio.

Norma's life was fulfilled with the love she had for Mike, her sons, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her animals. She was a caretaker at heart and her smile was contagious. She was adored by many that knew her as "Nana", and the unconditional love she showed to so many in her path in life.

Norma is proceeded in death by her parents, her son, James Matthew Hodgson, her siblings, Anna Brown, Russell Van Winkle, Michael Van Winkle, Darlene Carter and Martin Van Winkle.

Norma is survived by husband, Mike of Slaton, Texas, her son, Nathanial and wife, Trica, of Lorenzo, Texas, her grandchildren Emili Newman and husband, Christopher, of Slaton, Texas, Nichelle Hodgson of Slaton, Texas, Thunder Hodgson of Burley, Idaho, Norma Jean Hodgson and Ian Hodgson, both of Hubert, North Carolina, Nakaylee Scarbrough and Melaynah Finch, both of Lubbock, Texas. Her Beloved Great grandchildren, Matthew and Jessie Alcorta of Slaton, Texas. Her siblings, Joe Van Winkle of Anna Marie, Florida, Bill Van Winkle of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cheryl Thornton of Zebulon, North Carolina, Paul Van Winkle and Sally Stalling, both of Hamilton, Ohio. She also leaves behind her uncles, an aunt, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family that called her "Nana" over the years.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at The Refuge Church, 4308 58th Street, in Lubbock and a time of fellowship for friends and family afterwards at 1702 Baylor Avenue in Lubbock.
