Peggy Boyd, of Idalou passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on October 6, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas to Newton and Lena Kelso (Crim).
Peggy was a member of the Roosevelt High School Class of 1955. She was proud to be a farmer’s wife, a mother, and a Nana, who loved her family deeply. Peggy loved riding horses as a member of the Idalou Riding Club in her younger days. She also loved sewing, crossword puzzles, and playing bridge. Peggy was a faithful member of the Idalou Methodist Church for many years and spent her time working at the church as the secretary, soloist, and anything in between.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Boyd; parents, Newton and Lena Kelso (Crim); son, Bruce Boyd; son-in-law, Randy Clark; and sister, Billie Ensor.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Rick Boyd and DeAnna Byrne; daughter, Phyllis Clark; grandsons, Tanner and Carson Boyd, and Jonathan, Jeremy, and Justin Clark; sister, LaWanna Shaffer; and brother, N.D. Kelso.
Peggy will be laid to rest at the City of Lubbock Cemetery on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM, with a service to celebrate her life following at 11:15 AM. The service will be held at the Idalou Methodist Church, with Derrell Patterson and Larry Bass officiating.
