Peggy June Cline

Peggy June Cline, 87, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, December 26, 2025. Peggy was born on March 17, 1938, in Paris, Lamar County, Texas to the late Charles Douglas Gunter and Evalena (Baird) Gunter.

Peggy attended Lubbock High School and graduated with her senior class.

She met the love of her life, Norman Cline, and they were united in marriage on October 1, 1955, in Clovis, New Mexico. Mr. Cline preceded her in death on March 6, 1998.

Peggy loved to sew, work crossword puzzles and enjoy cut flowers. She made her daughter’s own wedding dresses. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and football in general. Peggy worked in business administration for Holland Gardens for approximately 20 years, before retiring in 2015. Peggy was raised in the Baptist faith.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her five daughters: Bridgett (Tony) Arrendondo of Anton, Jan (Stacey) Davis of Lubbock, Cindy (Bryan) Mitchell of Shallowater, Kim (Chris) Wilson of Lubbock and Kristi (Rome) Robinson of Abernathy. In addition, she leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Vicki Cline and two sisters, Margie Hong and Nell Byers.

Visitation for Peggy will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in the Oak Crest Suite of Combest Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1 PM in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.

The pallbearers will be Tony Arrendondo, Jr., Charlie Neeley, Chris Neeley, Justin Davis, Shay Benton, Mitch Mitchell, Michael Ferguson, and Jake Cline.  Travis Davis will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
