Peggy Morris

Peggy June Morris of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born June 8, 1936 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Ralph and Alta (Doss) Johnson.  Peggy grew up and attended school in Checotah. She lived most of her life in the triangle area of Checotah, Warner, and Muskogee. In 1954 she met and married Sharden Morris and together they raised three children in Warner, Oklahoma.

Peggy was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Warner for many years, where she faithfully attended and was very involved in church activities. She worked for East Central Electric in Muskogee for many years until her retirement in 1996. In 2008 Peggy moved from Muskogee to Odessa, Texas to live with her son David and in 2012 they moved to Lubbock.

Peggy is survived by her sons David Morris and wife Blanca of Lubbock and Gary Morris and his wife Melissa of Ft. Worth. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sharden, her daughter Becky and her 5 siblings.

Services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, Texas.
