Peggy McCarley Stice, 81, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1943, to Floyd McCarley and Eudera Payne McCarley in Texas. 

Peggy married Kenneth Stice in Tahoka, TX, in 1962. 

They first met in the town square of Lamesa, Texas. They were married for 62 years and raised a loving family. They loved hosting family holidays and spending time with one another. They enjoyed decorating for all holidays especially Christmas. 

She worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years and served as the President of the Insurance Women of Lubbock. She was an avid rooster figurine and cookie jar collector. She was a fierce and loving spirit who loved watching her grandchildren. She spent the majority of her time with her grandchildren, beloved pets, and watching Murder She Wrote. 

Peggy is survived by her husband, Kenneth Stice of Lubbock, TX; Children, Winston and spouse Sylvia Stice of Lubbock, TX, and Wendy Burris of La Vernia, TX; grandchildren, Zach Burris, Whitney and spouse Riley Yocham, Taylor Burris and fiancé Jarett Mieure, Bailey Burris, Jordan Stice, Paeton Stice ; great-grandchildren Scout Burris, Ryder Burris, Riley Caleb Yocham, Cash Yocham; and sister, Jimmie Carol. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd McCarley and Eudera Payne McCarley; and sisters, Ramona, Wynona, and Jean Ann. 

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 10:00a.m. – 1:00p.m. at the Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, TX. 

A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
